  3. I realize puffins aren't an Ontario bird, but this is such a cool article highlighting how birds see an entirely different world than us! Instead of being able to see 3 wavelengths of colour in their retinas like humans, birds can see 4. Who knows what else we're missing.

  5. Since 2012 Mayfly numbers have dropped by 50% around Lake Erie according to this article. Insect declines like this could really help explain the trouble our aerial insectivores in. A really interesting read!

  13. 2019 in Port Rowan was a success! Even though the day was a little less birdy than we might have hoped for we still got 38 species with 200 Sandhill Cranes being a highlight. Thank you to everyone for their all their help making this day so much fun.
