Woah this my local river. Well I can see it with binoculars ;) And as far as I know our creek is its highest tributary. Great work. 👍🏼

The Press Release announcing the new rules weakening the Migratory Bird Treaty Act includes a list of cherry-picked quotes from anti-environmentalists at the end. I've never seen anything like it.

Toiora being released on Whenua Hou yesterday. She's never been outside of a nest in the wild before after 276 days in hospital, so there's a whole new world to get used to. She was a little reluctant to leave her crate. Pic: Sarah Little.

Getting some petitions to door knock this weekend! Maybe I'm naively optimistic, but I'm hoping we can generate a big, powerful, blue tsunami this fall.

I had to wait over an hour for this juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron to finish its nap. And then it wasn’t moving too much for the rest of the time I was there. Well, that’s a heron for you! 😍 Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Yesterday I photographed this male Ruffed Grouse poised in a declaration of self-importance. There was a female grouse in a tree above it. Note the bird is a “chocolate” - that is his neck ruffs and tail band are chocolate-colored rather the usual black.

Have any of y’all gone on a safari in Tanzania? If yes, what company did you use and how was your experience? The safari is probably the hardest logistical part for me to pin down 😭

I was looking for individual birds when I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. A small flock of Cattle Egrets originally out of camera range took off. I panned the camera with their flight path and captured them as they flew in front of me toward the setting sun.

I just found an account on IG whose content is almost 100% this person petting their sheba while it snarls. And everyone think it’s hilarious. It just makes me so sad. And mad! Smad! It makes me smad.
