Birds can be sleek, aerodynamic, and powerful—all in one package. So far, more than twenty models of cars have been named for birds, and they go way back.

I had to wait over an hour for this juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron to finish its nap. And then it wasn’t moving too much for the rest of the time I was there. Well, that’s a heron for you! 😍 Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Northern Pygmy Owl brings to weekend by tackling big jobs: this teeny owl often catches prey items 3X its size! Not fond of human-made nest boxes. Striking black eye spots on the nape of their necks make potential predators think twice before attacking!🦉

Eyeshadow colors inspired by the Northern Pygmy Owl for #SuperbOwl in browns with white spots. Includes the black eyespots on the eyeshadow wing, lined with white. Background is cedar branches. Lips are yellow with a tint of orange at the corners.
