Fun fact! On Wreck-It Ralph I animated my first "game characters".
This shot was supposed to have Ralph's ship blast past Sonic. I pitched it would cause Sonic to lose his rings like he took damage, and they APPROVED IT! I even animated the rings ;)

Back on Spider-Man PS4 I was on our very small, but very mighty open world team. I got to do all the cafe goers in here :) it was fun timing and lining up all the reacts. This kind of stuff is ultimately more about ‘feel’ and to support the main action. 💪🏻

The script for this scene called for a toast...So we looked for an asset to use and passed it to the animator. When it came in, it was tiny and animator went for it without scaling. The second we saw it, we all lost it and YELLED "IT MUST BE IN THE GAME."#riftapart #happyaccident
Yes, I will also add, that I speak for myself. I do believe the team as a whole did not suffer crunch and our management certainly encouraged that.

My disabled dad hasn't played a game since the N64 era. The controller could be held in a single hand with the center grip/joystick/trigger combo.
Seeing the leaps and bounds gamedevs have made since warms my heart that my dad will actually get to play something I made.

Sega is deeply protective of Sonic and EVERY Sonic shot had to go through a separate “Sega Approval”. We had style guides and everything. While this Sonic design was specific to our movie, Sega was involved.
My favorite genre of television is “Live Reporter Trying to Keep it Together in a Haunted House”.
