In Unity 2020.1, there's an additional way to get rid of these.
In Project Settings/Player, check "Suppress Common Warnings"

Nice addition. Thank you. We prefer number 3 btw because it does not hide possible useful warnings. Downside is that this does not really work for structs.
I'm guessing default assigns the variable to the default value for it's type, right? Didn't know about that, will use it in the future instead of the supress warning one.

Awesome, thank you for the fix. I have written pragma warning disable/restore X in so many scripts.. Such a small but annoying thing.
For reference types the default is null. For value types it depends on the type, but for ints and floats it is zero.
Why do people continue to start variable names with underscores! 
It always depends on the coding guide lines of the current customer / project when we write a unity tip xD
