I was into 2D animation before transitioning over to illustration and concept art, and now I'm trying to go back to the animation grind, but this time exploring 3D instead. It's foreign enough to me, and there's also a bunch to learn from it to where it feels like a playground
Yeah I totally know what you mean about the playground. You happily accept that you're learning and don't have this overbearing feeling of holding yourself to a certain strict standard. And I definitely think having creative interests outside of your job can be very healthy.
