The Medmerry site is a coastal realignment providing extensive new habitat for wildlife & flood defence. There's a good overview on the wiki:

As pressure mounts to ban moorland burning, expect to hear desperate industry voices invoking ‘wild fire risk’ to justify business as usual scenarios. This is a misleading and nonsensical argument, which seeks to lock us in to a biologically impoverished future. Thread. 1/14

20 years after its creation from arable we are starting to cut the reeds on crane island at Lakenheath Fen. This will open out the habitat for a range of species hopefully including cranes! Thank you ! @RSPBFens

A taste of the Me-Dee-terranean has come to @RSPB_N_England with Great White Egrets breeding successfully for the first time at . They joined a pair of Cattle Egrets & a pair of Spoonbills that sadly failed due to three being a crowd. Maybe next year

A great two days annual reserves audit meeting flying the flag for our @RSPB_N_England sites. Great discussions about the successes, the problems, and how we are going to go about making things even better for our precious species and habitats.
