  1. Donald Trump will be an ignominious figure in US history, regardless of the outcome of today’s decision on Ferry Point. NYC did the right thing by canceling his contract and the City will win this case in the end. The only “political vendetta” here is the one he incited on Jan 6.

So let me get this straight: the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee think she’s really smart and really experienced and has a wonderful family and a great American story…but they all refuse to vote for her. And thank God they can’t stop her!

Is doing something controversial by calling for regime change in Russia? No! Not when Putin has consistently tried to undermine US elections. Putin started the regime game long ago. It’s payback time, Vladimir. And right on, Joe!

My pizza heart is broken! We lost the greatest pizzaiolo of them all . In a city of great pizzerias, he made the very best. I will never forget the magical way he cut basil leaves with his scissors + spread them over a pizza like a benediction. Un vero artista!

87% of adult New Yorkers fully vaccinated! That was once thought impossible. But believed we could do it. And he fought to make it happen. He was there when we needed him most. A genuine hero!

Tonight a year ago I joined a very poignant memorial for those we lost to Covid. The faces of so many good souls were projected onto the Brooklyn Bridge, allowing their families to share their loved ones’ stories with the whole city. They live on in our hearts, with us every day

So proud of you, New Yorkers! They said it couldn’t be done, but you proved them wrong: NYC led America’s COVID comeback! New study confirms 48,000 lives saved because we singularly focused on vaccination. Kudos + all the health care heroes!

The study in contrasts between Putin and couldn’t be sharper: one lost in a broken imperialistic dream and the other thoroughly modern and democratic. This only ends one way, with a deeply diminished Russia and Ukrainians hungering for independence more than ever.

It was crucial for democracy in Canada and beyond that and acted decisively. Democracy is in profound danger globally but history lights the path, showing us the way out of these crises. In many ways our leaders are heeding those lessons hard-learned.

Which brings me to the other crisis that recalls that pivotal moment decades ago, now playing out in Canada. The lesson of the Weimar Republic was that progressive and democratic governments cannot let anti-democratic forces create chaos. Rights can be respected and order kept.

Western nations should heed the plea of and act together on sanctions proactively. If this is our Munich 1938 fork in the road, then let’s assume the worst intentions from Russia and take the actions we can. Act while you still can: the simplest lesson of the 30’s

Never minimizing the threat, creating a real alliance of nations to punish aggression, blowing the cover of false flag operations — these are the kinds of actions that could have made a profound difference decades ago and now thank God are US government policy and strategy.

There were too many times when America looked the other way in the 1930’s and didn’t join efforts to confront Fascism’s rise — actions which might have helped to avert war ultimately. Contrast that with the assertive approach of and in calling out Russia.

On the eve of another war, I’m wondering if history could repeat itself. For so many of us, our touchstone for what-not-to-let-happen is the rise of Fascism in the 1930’s and the world war that followed. As depressing as this moment is, I do see evidence of real lessons learned.

Just came from the viewing for legendary labor leader Eddie Kay. Our brother gave us 89 years of heart + spirit + total belief in the dignity of working people. and I had the joy of campaigning with Eddie in 2013. NO ONE could motivate people like this good man!
