It has hurt due process, with both sides of the impeachment inquiry declaring ‘guilty’ or ‘innocent’ without knowing the facts. It diminishes the office of the presidency. And it is downright depressing for many Americans.

Impeachment is pitting neighbor against neighbor. It is distracting the president and congress from addressing vexing problems. It creates uncertainty in the economy. It puts the USA in a bad light. It emboldens the Chinese not to make a fair trade deal with America.
