Earth is round. BUT- here’s my issue. Why do you assume it’s the education system teaching/not teaching this? Hard to fight what happens and what kids hear the other 16 hours of their day. I’m all for more science $ but let’s also remember they learn at home.

A case could be made that if they were actually taught science, reason and critical thinking then they would not be so easily bamboozled.

We DON'T have to up our science education game. Science teachers everywhere teach how/why the Earth is round. Rather, we have to up our critical thinking game with more humanities education. That's the best way to teach students to spot fake news and propaganda.

Somewhere in between, I think. If you're just teaching facts with no way to independently evaluate them, you're no better than religion doing the same thing. Scientific and media literacy together help tremendously!
