  What's missed in this conversation is that people reject information that is threatening to their identities and worldviews. News media that covers truth is important, but if people fail to check their biases, misinformation will continue to spread.

  The media does need to step up their game with regards to accuracy. They always have. From their hyperbolic language to shock story headlines to always reporting some scientific finding incorrectly, their obsession with speed and shock over quality is dangerous.

  Our press and news media? Jesus Bill Nye. Are you serious? All you have to do if go watch 5 minutes of Fox News and then 5 minutes of CNN and you will get conflicting reports, truncated quotes, and other misinformation from both. The truth always lie in the middle.
