I’m sincerely heart broken to see some of the social media posts friends & peers continue to post. I had always known them to be kind, lovely, middle class mothers & fathers. They’re hate & lack of decorum are at continued high. They’ve lost their minds.

They are who they have always been, you are just seeing them more clearly now.
-
I don't think that's right for a lot of them. They've been fed the same FoxNews & "conservative" press echo chamber diet for decades, now.
-
Why did it find such a receptive audience? Serious question.
-
I believe they’re the ones w/Fear seeded at the core of their being. They are the most fearful amongst us. Fear has manifested to Ugliness & given fuel to breed. The irony is we managed to elect the one person who has put every inhabitant of earth more at risk.
-
How disappointed will they be when immigration reforms don’t bring them the life they desire & believe is taken away by others?

What did you THINK would happen after decades of GOP dogwhistling and actively courting Christianist zealots and allowing billionaires to control the discourse? What on earth did you expect the outcome to be?

And they all know Trump is guilty, but want him to get away with it because they've hitched their wagon to his. If he goes down, so do they. These aren't the easily-conned, poorly-educated rubes. It's Establishment & public servants who are now selling out their country
-
What I really don’t get... everyone knows the occupant of the oval is temporary. Why do our institutions and democracy mean so little to them that they are willing to sell out our country for a temporary occupant of the White House? They are on the wrong side of history.
-
Possible answer: Rs in office know they're likely doomed in 2018. So get all the goodies they can, prepare for soft landing when they're kicked out--in spite of damage it may due to country. From selfish POV makes sense; from patriotic POV, it's deplorable.

At core of Trump and Sanders supporter’s anger is elites behaving badly and not paying the consequences, which is exactly what Cong. Reps. are doing. Ironic doesn’t even begin
-
Elites have been the bogeyman of the nation since Adams ran against Jefferson. Over the past decades, the elites brought billions of people out from behind the iron curtain and shrank global extreme poverty from 50% to less than 10%. Take a bow, elites.
-
"Elites" such a unclear term, can mean different things depending on who's using it. For example, is 1% synonymous with elites? If so "elites" wld take on more negative connotation for me. If "elites"=experts, well-educated, experienced gov't/business ppl, more positive

We need to repair our democratic infrastructure. Eliminate gerrymandering, overturn Citizens United, bring back the Fairness Doctrine.
-
And eliminate “corporate personhood.”
