That would require leadership that holds a vision for what the world should become and how the US should lead. I don’t believe the American people have an appetite for US global leadership any longer

No. Regime change in China could easily (1) result in hundreds of millions of deaths and (2) lead to something worse (see eg Iraq). The goal might reasonably be gradual evolution of the Chinese regime towards something more open, tolerant, peaceful and resilient
