I moved to TN about a year ago from Florida and I have to say what yall do here with TNReady is wounderful. Way to be an example to other states how your citizens and education need to be treated.

Very disheartening to learn parents are not included in Knoxville meeting about TNReady and that you scheduled it when most teachers are still under contract and work up to 45 minutes away. I guess it’s a meeting just for show. This test is not in best interest of our kids.

Is the first stop on the listening tour really this Friday from 3:00 to 4:30? Is there any way to extend the time? Most teachers in the area have to work until 3:45 and won’t be able to make it.

Knowledge is the key to all educators. Allowing teachers to rejoice in proficiency and growth would be a better evaluating system. Please listen to the teachers. Data can be deceitful and detrimental to learning and to the teaching profession.

Go ahead and assess but quit tying grades and teacher evals to it. You are creating an environment that teaches to a test.
