Partially. A large problem is people saying we can do it with current tech. Leads to investors ignoring new tech startups that could speed the transition and cut costs a ton. Even improvements to solar and storage would help. We still need investment to get to market!

I see your point, but I would think creating a big market for existing tech would encourage the appropriate improvements. There’s real danger in waiting for perfection.

Bob, you are right and there would be no starving of start ups. Look at the progress in efficiency and cost reductions in wind and solar. A strong demand encourages innovation. Bill Gates should simply advocate for a carbon tax under which his miracles would also prosper.

Mr. Gates. We already have that breakthrough. We have wind, solar, thermal, tidal, etc. The “breakthrough” we need is a society that doesn’t put money over human life. Talk to your fellow Billionaires buddy. Their greed is gonna kill us all.
