African women have always been leaders in their communities. If one is to look back at history, the were warriors, protectors and leaded armies. They competed on equal footing with men. It continued throughout slavery and today in modern society.

TRUE! I was raised by a single mom for 17 yrs. & probably 90% of my positive traits come from there. That’s why to me, the need for women empowerment is not political but acknowledgement/recognition the positivity the world can achieve through a woman! They add love to leading.
