      I just don't understand why Biden isn't pushing harder for the Hispanic vote in Texas. The fact that Trump has more than 35% support with a group he permanently demonizes and forcibly sterilizes is just insane to me.

      My Hispanic family are mostly voting Trump. And when poll greeting, I never assume the older Latinos are Dems. Even in suburban/urban Tarrant County. Young, urban Hispanics are mostly Dems

      Especially in Texas. The D/R split for Hispanics in TX is much closer than somewhere like California.

      Completely different, I agree. Based on my anecdotal experience. I have a whole set of family in California (My grandfather had 27 children from two wives - the first family is there).... They are mostly Dems, except the ones who are evangelical Christians

      Makes sense. There has been a lot of research comparing the shift of Hispanic voters from R to D in CA in the 1990’s following a big anti-immigrant push from the GOP. At the same time, the shift didn’t happen in TX because Bush was generally more positive toward the community.

      Honestly, most of my aunts and uncles, the children of immigrants, and their children, seem to have zero empathy for immigrants. They don't see themselves in the people coming across the border now.

          It's heartbreaking for me. I don't understand them. My grandpa, who came here from Mexico, didn't vote because he didn't get his citizenship until right before he died, but he always supported Democrats and didn't like Republicans.
