Completely different, I agree. Based on my anecdotal experience. I have a whole set of family in California (My grandfather had 27 children from two wives - the first family is there).... They are mostly Dems, except the ones who are evangelical Christians
Makes sense. There has been a lot of research comparing the shift of Hispanic voters from R to D in CA in the 1990’s following a big anti-immigrant push from the GOP. At the same time, the shift didn’t happen in TX because Bush was generally more positive toward the community.

Honestly, most of my aunts and uncles, the children of immigrants, and their children, seem to have zero empathy for immigrants. They don't see themselves in the people coming across the border now.
