My Hispanic family are mostly voting Trump. And when poll greeting, I never assume the older Latinos are Dems. Even in suburban/urban Tarrant County. Young, urban Hispanics are mostly Dems
Especially in Texas. The D/R split for Hispanics in TX is much closer than somewhere like California.

Completely different, I agree. Based on my anecdotal experience. I have a whole set of family in California (My grandfather had 27 children from two wives - the first family is there).... They are mostly Dems, except the ones who are evangelical Christians

Makes sense. There has been a lot of research comparing the shift of Hispanic voters from R to D in CA in the 1990’s following a big anti-immigrant push from the GOP. At the same time, the shift didn’t happen in TX because Bush was generally more positive toward the community.
