No surprise. This isn't about Trump, but about the Republican party's long term goals. Party uber alles.

I KNEW he was going to do that, yet when I saw the headline now it literally made me ill. I know we can't give up, I know we have to keep pushing. But first, I need a pint of Cherry Garcia, and then I'm going back to bed, pull the covers over my head and mentally regroup.

It is easy to lash out at
@SenatorRomney. But what they are doing is neither illegal, nor wrong! They are exercising their constitutionally earned power. Blame for this mess squarely rests on 90 million eligible citizens who didn't vote in 2016, or those who voted@GreenPartyUS! -
It's not illegal, but it's hypocritical and wrong, accordong to everything they said about letting the people decide in an election year. They're all liars, and not even ashamed of it.

Like most conservative Republicans, when push comes to shove, Mitt’s religious world view dictates his political stance — i.e., it’s all about Roe v. Wade in the end. In contrast, that had no relevance to the impeachment hearing vote (with Pence in line, maybe even helped it).
