Though undoubtedly different from covid, flu is an annual scourge on this country with similar forms of transmission. Not being flippant, serious, respectful qs from a man who watches Obama roast trump on YouTube to cheer himself up...

      1) “One death is too Many.” This was said in your replies. Without question, someone has gone to a restaurant with flu, spread it, and led to the death of another. Going forward knowing this absolute annual certainty, should we ban restaurants...

      2) Knowing with absolute certainty that the flu has transmitted and will transmit through restaurants leading to deaths, are you never going to a restaurant again...

To be more specific, a restaurant operator will have someone spread flu in their establishment in the future. it will, without question, lead to sickness and death. Following your logic, what do we do here... If ”one death is too many,“ what do we do here...

And then what about all public spaces where flu inevitably, year after year, sickens and kills people. Sporting events/the arts/enclosed retail spaces...

Finally, Covid seems less lethal on children. Flu... not so much. So given what flu may do to children in the future, what do we do... What do you do...

The lockdown was necessary; we weren’t prepared. But going forward, we have to have better discussions than singling out restaurant owners for public destruction.

Anyone who’s ever worked in a restaurant knows how hard it is. Crazy hours, brutal physical condition, your chance of surviving 1/10 “Rebuild!” after bankruptcy, they say. Business into personal bankruptcy, depending on how your leveraged, not even an option for most.

We need better discussions than your tweet. You’re running for Office? Did you offer a plan for restaurants? Did you list resources that may help them as their lives are ruined in what amounts to an instant? Did you call any of them?

There is no comparison with the loss of life. But did you, from your more comfortable position, take a moment to empathize with what they might be going through? How hard this is for them and their families?

I’ve worked in restaurants. I’ve even been forced to serve while very sick or risk losing my job (something I shouldn’t have done, but I wanted to keep my job). I’ve also lived on min. wage and gone without health insurance because I couldn’t afford it. Any other assumptions?
