Seeing all of the comments about superglue, I’ve done it before and it works (depending on the depth of the cut), BUT it did leave a pretty noticeable scar. Also, disclaimer: I have a PhD, not an MD and this is not medical advice.

Yep. Gorilla glue for shallow cuts. But in my experience, it’s been pretty clear when I needed to go to the ER. Snipped off a fingertip with pruning shears? Ayup, ER.

Agreed, but I didn’t have the money to go to the doctor. Super glue was cheaper.
