If you need stitches in your arm during the coronavirus crisis, should you just do your best to tape it and hope it heals or go to an emergency room?

I’ve done it as well. It can work, but it depends a lot on the location, depth, and length of the wound as to whether it’s even as advisable to try. Concern is wound can heal over but become infected underneath the healed surface, leading to potentially dangerous complications.

Yep. Gorilla glue for shallow cuts. But in my experience, it’s been pretty clear when I needed to go to the ER. Snipped off a fingertip with pruning shears? Ayup, ER.
