For medicinal or recreational purposes? Or both?
I think it should be both. Too many people locked up for non-violent drug offenses. Time to treat it like a public health matter instead.

I think making recreational use legal is a slippery slope. It creates the idea that it is not harmful when it is. That it’s just like drinking a beer as opposed to a harmful drug.

I can understand the concern. That’s why we need to take some of the money used to incarcerate people for non-violent marijuana offenses to put into public health, harm reduction programs. Programs like this have reduced the # of Americans who smoke. We can do the same here.
