To reopen the economy we need to be doing between 750,000 and 22 million tests A DAY depending on the estimate. Right now, we are doing about 150,000. That means our current testing is between 1% and 20% of the testing we need. We have a lot of work to do before reopening.

I'm guessing testing needs to become more accurate, as well.

Im a lab scientist at a large univ med center. We are still having trouble getting supplies for the extraction part of the testing. We have three different methods for extraction and have gone back and forth due to supply problems. We do 200-300 tests per day; could do 1000.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t Dr Birx address that-once labs get on line they’ll be processing 1 million tests per week and that will be increasing exponentially

Would it be too much to ask for students to be tested before returning to schools? People who work in close quarters to be tested before returning to work?
