“Chose not to train enough” is an interesting way to put it, I think you mean “young people are choosing not to agree to self finance a quarter million dollar education so they can serve the public good”.

I would say both are true. In addition to the high out of pocket costs, there are also limits on the number of slots at med schools as well as limited residency slots. All of the above need to to be fixed.

There are thousands of well qualified applicants refused admittance to medical schools because of limited spots. Government could easily correct the problem. After this, I bet the spots become available! This won’t be the world’s last pandemic!

Pharma runs medical Academia - it’s not “Healthcare” - they learn how to read a PDR. Do we want more robots or time for a new education? Why are immune systems so screwed up - they shouldn’t be. There are trillions of virus’s - they aren’t leaving.
