One of my wife’s 6th grade students didn’t eat lunch today because there was an issue with their account and they didn’t want to be seen eating the cheese sandwich that is given to students without funds in their lunch account. This is the America we live in.

Absolutely ridiculous and shame in the school admins that do this.
Unfortunately, these laws are written by politicians who are currently in power and who do not seem to see the issue. The best way to fix this is to elect new ones.

30% of kids qualify for free lunches under federal NSLP. To qualify, family of 4 making less than approx $32k. That’s a ridiculously low qualifier

Politicians who have never missed a meal. Politicians who write off lunches as business expenses. Politicians who make several times more then the parents of those children. For some children that's their only hot meal, sometimes the only meal. Shame those Politicians.
