One of my wife’s 6th grade students didn’t eat lunch today because there was an issue with their account and they didn’t want to be seen eating the cheese sandwich that is given to students without funds in their lunch account. This is the America we live in.

How sad for the school that they have so little humanity that they can't figure out a way to help kids eat lunch without embarrassing them that their parents don't have a lot of money. It's not acceptable and the school needs to stop this sort of behavior.
Unfortunately, the school had to follow the laws that the politicians have put on the books. I think the best solution is to find some new politicians.

It's also funding. How sad is it that teachers' families qualify for lunch assistance? It's even worse for Pre-K. They LOSE money going to college to get the education they need to do their jobs.
