Exactly. The big lie is that now we have "choice." If you chose a doctor, dentist or ophthalmologist "in network." And if you get hit by a bus, hope the ambulance brings you to an "in network" hospital or your about to go bankrupt.

I am a pancreatic cancer survivor. I dont do my regular testing because I cant afford it. Our insurance is $1200 a month. Its strictly catastrophic. Its all we can afford.
-
That’s awful. Too many people are going through exactly what you are. We’ve got to fix it.

Yup. A slip on the ice and you'll be glad you have insurance!

Keep in mind that most ambulance service is "private", too. Likely to be $10,000+ for out of network.
-
Yes! It’s crazy that’s not (typically) a public service like police and fire.

I’m 64, have an alarming symptom and can’t do anything about it because I don’t have insurance.
-
I am so sorry. If it is something that is truly alarming, I would go in. That’s what I did and I ended up having a big bill and I had to work out a payment plan, but your life is too important. We have got to fix this system.
