Many of my students are returning students who started a family and are then coming back, but It’s funny you mentioned that. I spent 2 years teaching Sex Ed to high school students. For those students, yes, let’s give them the tools they need to protect themselves.

Love this idea! Childcare can cost up to $900 a month in my area. Many have to put school off in favor of working multiple jobs because they just can’t afford both. Universal On-Campus Childcare would help SO many people!

You are so right. I’ve had students who we have worked with as much as possible, rescheduling exams, having them bring their child to class, but it still wasn’t enough and they had to drop out. We can’t have that.

Childcare Teachers need and deserve better pay and better access to training and education.

You are completely right! I was the COO for a non-profit that worked with women and children experiencing homelessness. We provided housing assistance as well as childcare for many of them and I became well-acquainted with the low pay for those teachers.

Many of my students are returning students who’ve started their families and return to college for various reasons (e.g. career training). I do agree that it’s important to give people the tools they need so that they can choose the right time to start a family in addition.
