I agree that we need all of the tools, including nuclear, especially if we can get to thorium/MSRs.
GM Ag would allow for the creation of modified crops that could withstand elevated CO2 levels and increases in temperature. We have to think about our food security in view of climate change impacts. Science shows decreases in crop yields and loss of crop species.
