I’ve watched as the cost of my asthma inhaler went from $27 to over $140, and that’s nothing compared to the skyrocketing cost of insulin. We must allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug costs.

One reason asthma inhalers went up in price is Big Pharma lobbied congress to require inhalers to use NON-CFC propellant, which required them to create non-generic formulations, which allowed them to circumvent generic laws and pricing.

I remember when that happened. Sadly, a lot of pharmaceuticals go through this. The pharma companies have gotten very good at figuring out how to keep their products from going generic to keep profits high. We need some changes to our patent laws.
