That’s tough to tell. There’s not much data that I am aware of (please feel free to let me know of any you have) concerning the number of ammunition purchases each year. You’re right that time is money. I’m open to any suggestions to speed the process and still keep people safe.

There’s a slight delay when I show ID to purchase a beer, but I don’t feel like my right is denied

That is not a federal background check. You are intentionally conflating the two. Do you have to show ID to drink at a friends house? Is it a felony if you do so anyway? You are either uniformed or are arguing in bad faith.

Serving alcohol to a minor is a class A misdemeanor. So, yes, your friends should know that you are of age before they serve you.

You have injected the variable of a minor into the argument because of your failure to present a valid argument. This was about you an individual that is of legal drinking age. Your ammunition laws would punish people who can legally possess ammunition, for not following your law

No, they both concern confirming that the person you are giving something to is legally allowed to have it.

So people wouldn’t be punished for not following your ammunition background check law?

You said it is simply a check to see if the person is legally allowed to have it? If they are legally allowed, what is the point in punishing them?

The point is to stop the ones who AREN’T legally allowed to purchase. That’s why we check and then let the ones who can purchase do so and stop the ones who can’t.
