There’s a slight delay when I show ID to purchase a beer, but I don’t feel like my right is denied

That is not a federal background check. You are intentionally conflating the two. Do you have to show ID to drink at a friends house? Is it a felony if you do so anyway? You are either uniformed or are arguing in bad faith.

Serving alcohol to a minor is a class A misdemeanor. So, yes, your friends should know that you are of age before they serve you.

You have injected the variable of a minor into the argument because of your failure to present a valid argument. This was about you an individual that is of legal drinking age. Your ammunition laws would punish people who can legally possess ammunition, for not following your law

No, they both concern confirming that the person you are giving something to is legally allowed to have it.

We don’t have registration here in Texas, but we still enforce the federal background checks that are on the books.

Could you please tell us how many people have been charged for trying to buy a firearm, despite being a prohibited person in Texas?

You are the one claiming that Texas is enforcing the law.

And you’re the one (who I assume doesn’t live here) who thinks that Texas doesn’t. Prove me wrong.
