It’s a pretty minor inconvenience for the tremendous number of lives it would save.

We could certainly benefit from speeding up/simplifying the background check process.

If you will only accept things that are perfect, you are going to be sorely disappointed.

More people are killed by bad guys with illegal weapons. Why don’t go to the South Side of Chicago at midnight and preach your thoughts?

Also, instituting one policy (e.g. universal background checks) doesn’t keep us from instituting a second one (e.g. cracking down on gang violence). We can do more than one thing at a time.
