Thank you so much for everything you're doing! Running for Congress here and support common sense legislation like universal background checks on guns and ammo. (The science says that doing both could reduce gun deaths by up to 81%.)

Science? Common sense is realizing that criminals don't follow laws.

Please explain how legislating gun ownership will prevent senseless death. You speak of science as an absolute. How about you follow the skinny kids lead and legislate evil out of existence. Let us know how that works out.

If people who are likely to harm themselves or others do not have access to lethal tools, fewer people will be harmed. BTW, we already do this on the vast majority of gun purchases. We are just proposing to make sure it happens in all cases and that nobody can skirt the rules.

Lethal is subjective as diesel fuel and fertilizer can be lethal. Please explain this skirting you speak of. Criminals dont follow laws citizens do. Or is your expectation to label every Legal gun owner a criminal.

Yes, but “lethal” also exists on a continuum from a butter knife to a pistol, etc... Perhaps I should have said “highly lethal”? Whether or not criminals follow laws depends on the enforcement mechanism. If we enforce these laws, criminals will not have a choice.

Choice is mandatory you choose to take a side where gun control is your key to utopia ( will never exist) And yes we will respectfully disagree thank you for staying on point and not straying from the discussion

I always find a good discussion on a difficult topic to be valuable, even if we don’t find common ground. I appreciate the back and forth.
