      California"s background check system for ammunition has denied several police officers to buy ammo because of mistakes. So there's that.

      Allow private citizens access to NICS. Just like FFL dealers. You wouldn't even need to make it mandatory. People would do it for peace of mind. Advice from a gun owner and Lifetime NRA member.

          A few years ago the Dems tried to pass a new background system. They hid inside the Bill a permanent record system to track all background checks. That didn't go over too well.
