I'm running to become the first Neuroscientist in Congressional history. Science makes our dreams a reality. Let's dream again. http://bigganforcongress.com

Best on the effort. I am seeing a pattern of anti-science becoming an increasing norm in our government. We could use (many!) more scientists.

Thank you! That’s a big part of why I decided to run. This anti-science culture was too much and I knew I needed to do more.

There are too many attorneys and not enough scientists. Thank you for running.

Indeed! When the ratio of attorneys to scientists is nearly 200:1, there’s a problem. It certainly explains the science policy that we have been getting.

That’s Shocking!
200x times more Lawyers just to UnDo Science and Data when Trump Administration furloughed more Scientists than any other previous one. They are Retiring them in Droves

Yep. I know people who were at federal science agencies and who worked in science policy with the previous administration who ended feeling like they needed to leave when Trump got there. This administration has had such a chilling effect on scientists. We’ve got to fix it.

Ironically completely counter productive. It was/is the scientists that was a key reason why we were so successful as an industrial nation. There are plenty of other countries that just do manufacturing and hard labor.

You’re right on. We used to lead the world in investment in research and development. Now we’re tenth.

Agree. R&D may pay off (not always of course). But not investing in R&D is a sure path to falling behind.
