I co-authored a book chapter on generational differences that included some of our own data. The conclusion was essentially that age differences are way more important than an arbitrary cutoff on birthdays that puts one person in one group and and another in a different one.
In other words, yeah, generational differences are pretty manufactured and make for great clickbate, but not much else.
