With no anger or hate I disagree. This vote is simply to right the ship. Sanity must be restored or we risk having Trump like behavior from the far left. Find the path and then find reasonable ways to get where we’re going. Idealism and hyperbole are what got us here.https://twitter.com/Biggan4Congress/status/1172628092453609472 …

I agree with you about idealism and hyperbole being unhelpful. However, that assumes that hope and forward-thinking are hyperbolic. We can be both bold and rational. I spent years in a lab doing just that.

I agree that Hope and forward thinking are forms of idealism. But, this is a huge distinction, the current state of idealism in politics is very different than the Idealism of Hope and Forward thinking/Progress. Hope and forward thinking is talking at the table. The other way...?

Totally with you on that. Idealism without a true vision of how to accomplish the goal is often used by politicians to sell ideas that have no chance of helping anyone. On the other hand, we see politicians who use a fear of loss to maintain the status quo.

That, my friend, is absolutely correct. People have lost nuance and the ability to see the difference between Hopeful Idealism and Hateful Idealism. They get lumped together into a Gordian knot and no one can find the start or end of it.
