Hi Rob, that's so nice of you! Deposits can only be made through the account holder's bank account, so you'll have to give him the cash and he can deposit. Also, note that he generally cannot put more in an IRA than what he makes in taxable income.

Right. I think cap was raised this year to $6k for those under 50, which includes my nephew. He says he's opened a roth thru u, so I guess I'll just have to mail him the check and trust him to deposit it. Thx for the data!
