Why not save money and just do what has been already shown to work in all the other 1st world countries where kids aren't gunned down at school?
I know installing metal detectors at the entrances of schools, limiting access once kids are on campus and having an armed security guard just won't work. Instead of blaming the guns, lets figure out what is causing our children to behave in such a way.
Or, instead of turning schools into prisons, we could do what has already been shown to work in all the other 1st world countries where kids aren't gunned down at school.
When I went to school there were no fences, no badges worn around the neck or security guards. Kids had pocket knives and never stabbed anyone. We didn't want to cause trouble or we would be in trouble both at school and home. It's how kids are being raised.
Methinks some good ol' (enforced!) gun safety legislation might do just the trick. Just to be clear: this means NOT locking down emergency exits and NOT giving teachers guns in hand.
