A great example of choice and freedom in education are 529 plans. The federal government respects each state's right to offer, operate and design plans tailored to their own unique needs – a rare instance where Washington stuck to its appropriate role.

What does a savings plan have to do with school choice? I'm pro school choice too, it just needs to be better than private charters and religious organizations subsidizing the well-to-do at the expense of the public system. I would love for you to cite a real study just once.

Betsy, Betsy, Betsy..... Most people who save using 529 plans can already afford to send their children to college. It is a convenient savings vehicle that I highly recommend but it has nothing to do with choice or freedom in education. Your comment proves you are unqualified.
