Growing up, my favorite teachers were those that encouraged, inspired and always pushed me to be better. We are so grateful for all of our nation's teachers and the work you do to prepare our students for tomorrow! #ThankATeacherpic.twitter.com/tFr1CUerUH

She also wants to thank her nanny, maid, gardener, chef, 2nd wing maid, limo driver, 3rd wing maid, private jet pilot and some of the other inspirational "staff" she had growing up.

Jealous much? Let me understand...as a child it was her fault for having staff or for being from a home with $$? So, what? She shoulda run away, after giving the staff a million each so that one day 50 years later you might approve of her?

Not jealous one bit. She knows nothing about the profession and has no business being in the position she's in which she only "received" due to her $$. Absolutely no experience whatsoever in any facet of education but is the Sec of Ed. Sure thing pal 👍🏼😉

She actually has more education experience than a handful of education secretaries historically... inconvenient fact.

DeVos has zero public school experience. Literally zero. She is uniquely unqualified to lead the department of education.

Which would put her on par with 7 of 11 past Sec'y of Ed. Including one of Obama's, W's, and Clinton's et Al. Eegads! One former Sec'y even founded a CHARTER (King -OBAMA). How did we survive? BTW...did you find them unqualified also, though I guess it's not "uniquely" is it?

What makes @BetsyDeVosED unique is her stated intention to destroy public education. Talk to Michigan teachers and see how much good she did there @MIBATS

No, she really holds that office. Pretty sure, by definition that makes her one of only 14 Ed secretaries in history. Why does agreement with someone make their position legitimate or not?

“Fake” seems kinder than “doing harm.” It is just a shame that someone was not placed in the position who cares about “helping” with the vast majority of American students. There is a difference between not having the same opinion and doing dramatically harmful, inept things.

I am truly asking a question here, cause I do not know. What has Ms. DeVoss done SINCE being in office that has been so awful. I've not seen anything come through my school with her stamp on it. I'm not talking about her opinions or ideas. But, actual legislation, edicts, etc.

I appreciate your question. Betsy DeVos has spent her lifetime destroying public education and civil rights. She has given millions and millions to initiatives to start charter schools and tax credits/vouchers. I am an activist and advocate for public ed, kids & civil rights!

In 14 Charter states, 9 the surpass TPS, according to Stanford. Minorities seem to benefit most. That does not seem like anti-CR. Vouchers allow same access as the privileged. With gerrymandered districts wasn't it effectively voucher system anyway? But no access for underclass?

Not at all, at least not necessarily. My experience has been that once people move to Dean's, etc they usually are no longer actively in a classroom. Also, narrow sample size, but many of my profs were never in the field as a practioner. If you are both or all 3 my hats off 2 u
