You can’t compare our nation to others since we differ in size, population, culture, bordering countries, freedoms, governmental structures, natural resources, other resources, educational systems, societal expectations, societal allowances, etc...

True to an extent, but when comparing with other westernized nations there are broad similarities in many areas, coupled with a huge difference in gun ownership, and it takes wilful blindness to claim that other relatively minor differences completely invalidate the comparison.
