It's a good bet Ted Cruz does not work as hard all year long, as even most substitute teachers getting part of the summer off. Besides, most teachers continue their education during the summer months.

Plus, even if the kid COULD get into the school, the school can decide not to take him (something public schools CAN'T do), and transportation becomes an issue. Most low income parents rely on bus transportation for their kids to get to school.

I come from 4 generations of educators. My father worked 2-3 jobs. I always missed seeing him. Summers - no paycheck & he worked in a gas station for minimum wage. No summer vacations.

Our salary is a 9 month salary that is spread out to 12 months. Our benefits eat up alot of our paycheck. Teachers need
