    We must invest in treating pain better. Regarding opioids, we need clear protections for those who need the medication, and for those who wish to reduce their doses. Patient-centered pain care addresses individual needs vs. catering to rigid policies.

    Researchers are seeking to learn more about the diversity of pain. We need laws and flexible guidelines that reflect the needs of the individual vs. rigid rules based on data "averages". People are not averages...
