        Note main story byline -- Edward Kennedy of the AP. SHAEF embargoed the news, but Kennedy heard it was on German radio so he sent it. Angry journalism establishment pushed AP to fire him. He died Nov 29 1963 but his interesting memoir was published only a few years ago.

        @ I was in high school when the war ended. It started when I was in the 7tg grade, so I remember it well. I worry now what kind of world I am leaving my g-grandchildren and future generations.
