Recklessly shot by the National Guard. Poorly led citizen soldiers acting as police - a role they were not trained for - in a situation where their presence was uncalled for. And to what purpose, what end? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_State_shootings …

Thank you,
@BeschlossDC for reminding us to reflect on this. One of my early childhood memories. So ironic that today, of all days, our President and VP would pander to those who see guns as the solution, not the problem. - 1 more reply

Today our students are killed right in their classroom.
-
But not yet by their own government.
-
The current government is killing our kids by siding with NRA.

Sandy Scheuer was not even a protester. She was a speech/hearing therapy major & sorority sister, walking across campus with one of her classmates. Shot in the neck & died in minutes. He was shot in the ankle. Scheuer's parents got $15,000 from Ohio. What her life was worth?
-
Her life was priceless.

I listened to Neil Young's song, "Ohio" today too... (not) funny how it brought the horrifying memories rushing back.

Thank you for remembering these young mean and women. My daughter is finishing her freshman year at Kent State and this is still a very somber day here. Let's never forget this terrible tragedy.

Back when school shootings were so rare that songs were written about them.
-
Not really a "school shooting"....
-
I mean it’s a school and there was a shooting.

-
Right, but it just doesn't feel right. It wasn't an "intentional" act of someone going to a school and murdering people. Whatever.pic.twitter.com/zbHTEuRm3V

If anything it shows that guns, even in the hands of highly trained officers, could easily result in senseless deaths.
