In studying the traits and dispositions of the so-called lower animals, and contrasting them with man's, I find the result humiliating to me. — Mark Twain (1835-1910) The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man's. — Mark Twain, Letter to W.D. Howells, 1899

What is it about famous male writers and eyebrow maintenance?

Easy. The human eye is created to unsee the flaws your body develops!

One of my favorite people, ever. Thanks for this. I remember reading he was born when Halley's Comet was "coming through," and died when it passed through again. So appropriate for someone of his brilliance, wit, devotion. Thx, MB.

Thanks for this -- love it!
When I was a little girl in Elmira, NY, our neighbor was the elderly & elegant Mrs. Frances Petrie who had been a playmate of Mark Twain's daughters. Her father, Dr. Franklin "Frank" Benjamin Darby, was Mark Twain's dentist. -
when I was a child we lived in Horseheads NY for a year and I remember thinking how neat it was seeing the various Mark Twain in Elmira since I had read many of his books

Too bad Mark Twain wasn't able to live another century or so. We could use him.
